Sioux Valley’s Kaedyn Sapp and Colman-Egan’s Brynlee Landis were each named to the South Dakota High School Association’s All-State Volleyball teams for the 2024 season on Monday evening.
Sapp was a force for the Cossacks this season, leading them to a 25-8 record and their first state tournament appearance since 2017. Sapp racked up 319 kills with a .221 hitting percentage while adding 35 assists and 34 total blocks. But she also was a force on the back end, collecting 347 digs.
Sapp’s season also earned her a spot on the Class A All-State Tournament team, posting 42 kills, 49 digs and three aces to lead the Cossacks to a sixth-place finish.
Landis was also a key piece while leading Colman-Egan to a 25-6 record and the Hawks’ fifth straight state tournament appearance. Landis racked up a team-high 399 kills and a .271 hitting percentage while adding 14 assists and 36 service aces and had 32 total blocks and 352 digs on defense during the regular season.
Landis finished the year strong posting 50 kills, 44 digs, two aces and five total blocks while leading the Hawks to the consolation championship for the second straight year.
Elkton-Lake Benton’s Andrea Renkly also was named as an honorable mention to the Class A All-State team. Renkly had a 97 percent serving efficiency rate with 23 aces this season and a 2.07 serve rating. She also racked up 368 kills with a .219 hitting percentage, 29 total blocks and 434 digs while leading the Lady Elks to a 15-13 record this season.
