Trump misusing his power

Posted

Donald Trump, along with his supporters and cohort, including our South Dakota delegation of Sens. Thune and Rounds and Rep. Johnson, continues his quest for power, whether or not it is legal, constitutional or ethical.

Mr. Trump desires to change funding and rules for institutions of learning and other institutions that are of benefit to our nation and its people. Mr. Trump also wants control of other nations so he can extend his power.

He wants more power to take away voting rights from some, and change rules for his benefit, but not to the benefits of our nation.

However, we do not her of Trump seeking power to attempt to stem the problems we face with climate change. Nor do we hear of Trump attempting to control the terrible loss of young lives and others due to gun violence, causing heartache to survivors.

Trump misuses his power for such as pardoning those incarcerated for unlawful insurrection against our government, yet pleasing to a dishonest Trump.

Trump has been found guilty in a court of law of 34 crimes and, yes, has the audacity to say that some of our former Democrat presidents should be in prison. I suppose some of his followers would say that such rhetoric is a benefit to our nation.

Some decades ago, when I was quite young, a dictator by the name of Adolf Hitler rose to power and caused bedlam throughout Europe and the world. Hitler used many of the same type of tactics that are used by Trump now to seize power.

Trump’s quest for power is of no benefit for our nation. Our forefathers would be appalled at the blatant disrespect for justice and our democracy that Donald Trump displays.
