The 2024 high school volleyball season has concluded, which means it’s time to announce this year’s All-Register volleyball team.
The team is comprised of area teams including Brookings, Sioux Valley, Deubrook Area, Elkton-Lake Benton, Arlington, Lake Preston, Estelline-Hendricks, Colman-Egan, Flandreau, and Oldham-Ramona Rutland.
This year’s team includes Sioux Valley’s Kaedyn Sapp, Adison Renkly, and Caitlin Russell; Colman-Egan’s Kaylee Voelker, Brynlee Landis, Presley Luze and Elaina Rhode; Elkton-Lake Benton’s Andrea Renkly and Malyha Slegers; Brookings’ Kymber Buys; Arlington’s Madi Bacon; and Presley Bury of Estelline/Hendricks.
Sapp was the 2024 Register Volleyball Player of the Year, logging 367 kills and 54 aces for the Cossacks this season. Sapp was also strong on the defensive end with 392 digs and 34 blocks.
“Kaedyn is such a consistent and steady player,” Sioux Valley head coach Jill Vincent said of Sapp. “Her team relies on her to play all the way around and to do the work on serve receive, defense, as well as offensively getting kills and scoring points.”
Sapp also surpassed 1,000 career kills this season and went over 1,000 digs as a junior.
She is a three-time Lake Central Conference selection (2022, 2023, 2024) and a three-time Big East All-Conference Honorable mention (2022, 2023, 2024). She was a second-team All-State selection, Academic All-State selection and made the State Tournament team this this season. She also was named to the All-Register team in 2023.
“Kaedyn is one of the most coachable players I have had the privilege to coach,” Vincent said. “She was always at practice, ready to go, and willing to try new things. Each year she kept improving and working towards the goal of playing in a state tournament, and this year she achieved that.”
Sioux Valley finished 25-8 and finished sixth in its first State Tournament appearance since 2017.
Renkly was an All-Big East and Lake Conference selection racking up 246 kills, 53 aces, 262 digs and 118 blocks for the Cossacks this season.
She is a two-time all-LCC selection, a three-time All-BEC selection and was an Academic All-State selection this season. This is her second selection for the All-Register team after being selected in 2022.
“Adison is an explosive middle hitter who is quick to the ball,” Vincent said. “She has impeccable timing when hitting a quick set. This season she has added a soft tip to her arsenal of tools she uses at the net. She had to learn how to change up her shot selection to get past the other team’s best blockers. Blocking is one of Adison’s strengths. She can anticipate and is very fast to react to where the set is going. With such a high volleyball IQ, she knows how to time the block to get results.”
Russell had 456 digs and 36 aces for the Cossacks this season.
“Caitlin was a hard worker who improved all year long in middle back defense,” Vincent said. “She is a consistent passer and is quick to the ball.”
Landis had a tremendous season, making the All-State and All-State Tournament teams. She had 451 kills, 397 digs, 37 blocks and 38 aces to lead the Hawks to a 26-6 record and their fifth straight State Tournament appearance.
The Hawks won the consolation championship at State for the second straight year.

“Kymber has provided consistency and competitive drive for our team,” Brookings coach Erinn Thomas said. “She has stepped up to provide significant offense as a hitter on top of setting for three rotations. A gifted multisport athlete, Kymber embodies dedication and excellence on and off the court. Our program has big shoes to fill with her graduation and we are excited to follow her softball career at SDSU.”
The Bobcats went 14-17 this season.
Bacon was an All-DVC conference selection with 572 digs and 53 assists this season. She finished her career with 1,069 career kills and led the Cardinals with a 95.7% serve percentage and a 94.8 percent reception percentage this season.
