Sylvie Zgonc named Peak Performer of the Month

SIOUX FALLS — South Dakota State outside hitter Sylvie Zgonc was named Summit League Peak Performer of the Month for October by the conference office on Wednesday.

Zgonc kept the Jackrabbits rolling as her squad reeled off eight straight wins in October and remained the only unbeaten team in Division I volleyball. Zgonc averaged 4.47 kills per set and reached double figures in all eight victories for SDSU.

She added five double-doubles and put up back-to-back matches with 20-plus kills, recording 24 in a five-set win over South Dakota and equaling her season-high with 25 in a four-set win over Denver.

  • Led the Jackrabbits to an 8-0 record in October, keeping them as the only unbeaten in all of Division I volleyball.
  • Averaged 4.47 kills and 5.02 points per set, while posting double-digit kills in each match and recording five double-doubles.
  • Had 20-plus kills in back-to-back matches, recording 24 in a five-set win over South Dakota and equaling her season-high with 25 in a four-set win over Denver.
  • This is the first career Summit League monthly honor for Zgonc.
