There are still seats available to attend the South Dakota Humanities Council's Summer Teachers Institute. The class provides three free graduate or undergraduate credit hours.
The five-day field trip-style class is open to current teachers, future teachers, library workers and students who are seniors in high school.
Based in rural Gregory County, the class is a field trip-style workshop. Each experience will be supported with speakers and stories in Native voices. The class provides a framework of understanding and resources for teachers to use in their own lessons.
