Lois Rae Rykhus was born on a homestead in Perkins County near Lemmon, SD, Jan. 9, 1932. She lived her young life in the country near Lemmon and Clark, SD. Lois was a loving mother and passionate about her children: she raised four children. She loved attending theater, dancing, reading, taking photographs, playing cards, and having coffee and tea with friends and family.

Marilyn (Lyn) Ruth (Jones) Pedersen, a lifelong caregiver and long-time resident of Brookings who had moved to Minneapolis in recent years, died on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at the age of 86.
