YANKTON — Three area teams competed at the First Dakota Relays held on the Mount Marty University campus on Thursday afternoon.

No team scores were kept at the event but Brookings, Flandreau and Deubrook Area each turned in several top-five finishes.

Boys

Brookings

The team of Jon Kahler, Tevin Lounsbury, Nathan Smith and Ernest Ting brought home the Bobcats’ lone first-place finish in relay events, finishing with a time of 8:18.54 in the 4x800 meter relay.

Ernest Ting also turned in a first-place finish with a time of 4:34.86 in the 1600-meter run.

Jordan Mofle finished second in the triple jump at 39-07.00.
Alex Wainman finished third in the high jump at 5-09.00 and Elie Wongondombi finished fourth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 53.19 seconds.

Deubrook Area

Deubrook had a pair of first-place finishes including Gavin Landmark who posted the fourth fastest time in Class B this season in the 400-meter dash with a time of 52.04.

Jake Jorenby also finished first in the high jump at 5-11.00.
The Dolphins’ 4x400 meter relay team of Jaxon Quail, Landen Johnson, Jorenby and Landmark finished second and had the fastest time in Class B this season with a time of 3:30.23.

Landmark also posted the fourth fastest time in Class B and finished fourth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:04.99 and Johnson finished fifth in the same event with a time of 2:05.53.

The 4x200 meter relay team of J.P. Rogness, Johnson, Tevin Landmark and Jorenby finished fifth with a time of 1:38.09.

Flandreau

The Fliers’ 1600-meter short medley relay team of Benjamin Kulm, Micah Otto, Paul Parsley and Brenton Westberry finished in third place with a time of 3:46.42.

The 4x200 meter relay team of Parsley, Kulm, Otto and Westberry also finished fifth with a time of 3:39.67.

Girls

Brookings

Logan Smidt picked up a first-place finish in the javelin throw at 106-02. Smidt also finished second in the shot put at 35-00.00
Kennedy Ronning finished in second place in the pole vault at 9-06.00.
Amari Ward picked up a fourth-place finish in the long jump at 15-11.50.

The Bobcats also picked up a pair of fourth-place finishes in relay events. The team of Ward, Lily Murray, Elise Lefers and Ronning finished with a time of 1:53.54 in the 4x200 meter relay while Alaina Evans, Ronning, Lefers and Ward finished with a time of 53.11 seconds in the 4x100 meter relay.

Deubrook Area

The Dolphins’ 1600-meter short medley relay team of Akasha Gorecki, Kadence Bown, Kylee Johnson and Nora Olsen finished in third place with a time of 4:35.33.

Flandreau

Faith Wiese finished second in the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:13.00.

The Fliers 1600-meter short medley relay team of Ella Hoffman, Kiley Westberry, Morgan Sheppard and Josie Hamilton finished second with a time of 4:24.95.

Hamilton finished fourth in the 3200-meter run with a time of 12:27.82.
The 4x400 meter relay team of Hoffman, Westberry, Wiese and Sheppard finished fifth with a time of 4:17.66.
