BROOKINGS – A total of 18 people arrested were brought to the Brookings County Detention Center from 8 p.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Sunday, according to records released by the BCDC.
Of the 18 arrests, 16 were individuals with new charges; one individual arrested on a warrant; and one individual was held on a parole violation.
Breakdown of arrests by types of charges are:
• Six drug related
• Eight DUIs (seven DUI-first offense and one DUI-second offense)
• Three underage possession of alcohol
• Four possession of revoked, altered or fictitious license or display of other’s license as your own
• Two intentional damage to property
• Two disorderly conduct
• One failure to vacate
• One violation of a protection order
• One parole hold on a 24/7 sobriety program violation
• Two driving under suspension
• 10 miscellaneous traffic violations
