BROOKINGS – Brookings Police are looking for a graffiti vandal who defaced property in Lions Park.
The vandalism was reported at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of Medary Avenue South, according to Lt. Derrick Powers.
“It was believed to have occurred in the previous 24 hours,” Powers said.
The surface of the basketball court was spray-painted with various types of graffiti, he said.
The amount of damage is unknown at this time, Powers said Wednesday, because it depends on whether the graffiti can be removed with a pressure washer or if the court needs to be resurfaced or repainted.
