ELKTON – A woman was arrested for DUI after she allegedly hit the Elkton Bar and a vehicle Friday, according to the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident was reported at 10:49 p.m. Friday and occurred at 112 N. Elk St. in Elkton, Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring said.
Brinda Catillo-Lemus, 26, of Elkton, was driving a 1997 Toyota 4 Runner north on North Elk Street in Elkton when she lost control and struck the building and a 2013 Suburban that was parked in front of the bar, Sebring said.
“The building received $5,000 worth of damage, and the 2013 Chevy Suburban that was parked outside the bar on the street received $3,750 worth of damage,” Sebring said.
Catillo-Lemus’ Toyota received $1,590 worth of damage, he added.
Catillo-Lemus was arrested on suspicion of DUI-first offense, reckless driving, failure to report an accident and no valid driver’s license, Sebring said.
