Tuesday, July 10

9:53 a.m. Officers were dispatched to check on the welfare of a small child. The child was returned to the family, but two individuals at the residence were taken into custody for eight warrants from various counties.

10:05 a.m. Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 900 block of Fourth Street.

11:14 a.m. An adult female voluntarily turned herself in for a felony warrant.

1:04 p.m. Hit-and-run accident

4:32 p.m. Hit-and-run accident

Wednesday, July 11

9:23 a.m. A church staff member reported that their church was broken into on the night of July 10.

1:36 p.m. A parent called and reported some drug activity.

3:02 p.m. An accident between a motorcycle and car was reported.

3:33 p.m. This case is to document an evidence destruction.

4:58 p.m. Officers responded to the 2100 block of 22nd Avenue South in reference to a domestic violence call. One juvenile was charged and transported to JDC.

Thursday, July 12

8:14 p.m. Officer Bonnema stopped a vehicle for speeding. The driver was charged via complaint for possessing a canceled license.

9:02 p.m. Officer Asmus took an animal complaint from the 1000 block of Western Avenue. A report was filed, and the investigation is ongoing.

Friday, July 13

3:29 a.m. Officer Warkenthien took a fraud report. An investigation is ongoing at this time. A report has been filed.

5:42 a.m. The Brookings Police Department, Brookings County deputies and the Brookings Ambulance responded to the railroad tracks near the 800 block of Second Street South for a male who was laying on the train tracks. The male was transported to the Brookings Hospital with injuries, and the investigation is ongoing.

9:24 a.m. Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Trail Ridge Road for a welfare concern. One individual was taken into custody.

5:18 p.m. Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of 12th Street South for a domestic violence situation. An investigation was made, and one female was arrested. A report was filed.
