Tuesday, July 24

11:47 a.m. Officers responded to a non-injury crash in the 600 block of 22nd Avenue. A report was filed.

10:11 p.m. Officer Weets arrived at the Brookings County Emergency Room to take a report of a moped crash. A report has been generated.

Wednesday, July 25

7:14 a.m. Officers were called to the 1700 block of Torrey Pines Drive for property found on the ground. After an investigation, it was determined to be theft from a vehicle.

2 p.m. Officer Schneider spoke with a male at the police department in regard to harassment. A report was filed.

4:51 p.m. Simple assault domestic

Thursday, July 26

5:04 a.m. Officers were dispatched to the 2100 block of 22nd Avenue South for a possible domestic dispute. An investigation was performed, and it was determined the dispute was not violent. One person was arrested for active warrants.

2:56 p.m. Sgt. Sonnenburg responded to a report of a vehicle that had been struck by a rock falling from a dump truck. The incident was documented.

3:31 p.m. Agency assist

5:43 p.m. Officer Larsen was dispatched to the 400 block of Wren Circle for a report of found drug paraphernalia. The paraphernalia was confiscated, and a report was generated.

Friday, July 27

7:01 a.m. Officers responded to a two-vehicle, non-injury crash in the 1800 block of Eighth Street. A report was taken.

10:18 a.m. An individual came to the Brookings Police Department to report a scam. A report was taken.

12:03 p.m. Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 2100 block of Derdall Drive. The driver was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license and cited for both.

2:14 p.m. Officer DeJong was dispatched to the 300 block of Third Street for a vehicle that had collided with a fence. A report was filed.

5:52 p.m. A small amount of marijuana was discovered in the 700 block of Seventh Avenue South and turned over to law enforcement. Any person wanting to claim the marijuana can do so at the police department.

5:57 p.m. Officer Asmus was dispatched to the intersection of 17th Avenue South and 20th Street South for a two-vehicle, non-injury accident. A state accident report was filed, and one driver was issued citations.

8:41 p.m. Possession of marijuana, 2 ounces or less; possession of a controlled drug or substance; possession or use of drug paraphernalia; lane driving required
