Friday, May 11

9:15 a.m. Sgt. Bush discovered wasted waterfowl. The carcasses had been left to rot in the backyard of an apartment building. Information was provided to the game warden, and a report was filed to document the incident in the 600 block of First Avenue.

4:46 p.m. Officers were dispatched to the 2200 block of Sixth Street for a theft. A citation was issued, and a report was filed.

6:38 p.m. Officers were called to the 1400 block of 12th Street South for a juvenile male who was found in the complainant’s vehicle. An investigation into criminal entry of a motor vehicle is ongoing.

8:15 p.m. Officer DeJong took a report of a possible protection order violation. A report was filed.

Saturday, May 12

7:51 a.m. Officer Asmus assisted Brookings County Deputy Doremus with a domestic assault in progress in Volga. One male was arrested on multiple charges of assault, and a report was filed.

10:35 a.m. The Brookings Police Department responded to a two-vehicle accident in the 400 block of Medary Avenue. A report was completed.

Sunday, May 13

9:32 a.m. The Brookings Police Department responded to a two-vehicle accident in a parking lot on Lefevre Drive. A report was completed.

12:47 p.m. Officer McCaskill was requested to the Brookings animal shelter for the report of a possible burglary. Animal control officers reported an individual entered the unoccupied building to obtain his dog while workers were not present. A report is pending for possible charges.

3:18 p.m. Officer Asmus took a report of a hit-and-run from the 400 block of Third Avenue. A city accident report was filed.

4:37 p.m. The Brookings Police Department received a hit-and-run report in the 200 block of Eighth Street. One witness was identified, and the incident is being investigated.

8:08 p.m. An individual came to the Brookings Police Department to turn himself in on an outstanding arrest warrant. The individual was placed under arrest.

Monday, May 14

6:53 a.m. Officer Weinrich took a report of theft in the 2500 block of Sixth Street. A report was generated.

7:54 a.m. The Brookings Police Department received a vandalism report in the 1800 block of Sunnybrook Drive. A mailbox was damaged.

9:57 a.m. A Brookings resident arrived at the police department to file a report of vandalism to a motor vehicle. A report has been generated.

10:07 a.m. Officer Weinrich was dispatched to the 400 block of First Avenue for a report of a possible theft. A report was filed.

12:48 p.m. Officer Schneider received a referral from the Department of Social Services. A report was generated.
