BROOKINGS – More vehicles and garages were entered over the holiday weekend, and none were locked, according to Brookings Police.
The burglaries all occurred between Saturday night and early Sunday morning, Assistant Chief Derrick Powers said. Some vehicles entered were parked in garages.
“All together, there were 15 garages and/or vehicles that were entered,” Powers said. “No forced entry was utilized. It looked like the vehicles and garages were unlocked.”
A laptop and a few wallets were taken, he added. Some vehicles were rummaged through with nothing apparently taken.
The incidents occurred at different locations, Powers said, including the 200 block of Bluebell Circle, 100 block of Bluebell Drive, 2000 block of David Cove, 2000 and 2100 blocks of Larkspur Ridge Drive, 2500 block of Western Avenue South and the 2100 block of Morning Glory Drive.
