ABOVE: The Brookings High School Marching Band participated in the 35th annual Festival of Bands in Sioux Falls on Saturday. Twenty-five bands participated in the preliminary field competition. The top 10 bands advanced to the evening finals competition. Brookings was one of the top 10 bands moving on to the finals. The students rallied from their prelims performance to achieve an overall fourth-place finish in finals (and only 0.15 points out of 100 from third place). Next up for the band is Youth in Music where they will perform at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis on Oct. 8. They will take the field in AA prelims at 11:15 a.m.
