VOLGA – A Volga business was burglarized and cash was taken from a video lottery machine last week, according to the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.
The theft was reported at 3:22 a.m. Friday, when an alarm sounded at the business in the 300 block of Highway 14, Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring said. The business was not named.
“Upon arrival, it was found that the business had been broken into through a door on the east side of the building, which had been taken off of its hinges,” Sebring said.
“One video lottery machine had been broken into, and an undisclosed amount of cash was stolen. The other video lottery machines and an ATM were tampered with, but nothing was taken,” he added.
The burglary is under investigation with the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.
