BROOKINGS – The City of Brookings is seeking letters of interest from all qualified parties who may wish to pursue an adaptive reuse or redevelopment project of a historic armory building and adjacent property.
The property is city owned and is comprised of 0.975 acres with a former armory structure and 35-space public parking lot.
The land is zoned Business B-1 Central District and is located within the Downtown Historic District.
To ensure a successful project, the City would transfer the ownership of the building and a portion of the land for $1, assuming public parking would be offset. Additionally, the City will consider the utilization of TIF, assuming an acceptable proposal warrants the use.
Interested parties should submit a response to the Letters of Interest with individual/company background and contact information by 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20.
A full description of the Letters of Interest for the Adaptive Reuse / Redevelopment Opportunity and third-party building evaluation report is available at www.cityofbrookings.org.
Letter of interest may be submitted either by email or mail to City Manager Paul Briseno, 520 Third St., Suite 230, Brookings, SD 57006, or pbriseno@cityofbrookings.org.
For more information regarding this process, contact Briseno at 692-6281.
