HURON – Langford Area rallied from a five-point third-quarter deficit to beat Colman-Egan, 40-39, in Class B Round of 16 boys’ basketball action on Wednesday night at the Huron Arena.
The 10th-seeded Hawks led 14-12 after a quarter; 26-22 at halftime; and 34-29 through three before the No. 7 seed Lions roared back to pull out the win and qualify for next weekend’s Class B State Tournament in Aberdeen.
Bodee Groos led Colman-Egan with 13 points, nine rebounds and two steals as Kade Groos finished with 10 points, five boards, two assists and two takeaways. Dalton Voelker chipped in with nine points, 12 rebounds, a dime and a steal as the Hawks won the rebound battle, 30-24. Keith Crisp added four points and Chase Hemmer had three as Colman-Egan ended its season with a 17-6 record.
Ryan Punt led the Lions, 19-4, with 13 points, seven rebounds and three blocked shots as Colin Frey contributed nine points and Mason Larson had eight points, six boards and two assists.
