BROOKINGS – Adding a new view to the golf entertainment experience, Daktronics of Brookings has partnered with AVI Systems, Sioux Falls, to install a fine pitch, high-resolution LED display featuring a 1.9-millimeter pixel pitch for Great Shots at the Sanford Sports Complex in Sioux Falls.
The installation was completed this fall prior to the venue’s grand opening.
“The display from Daktronics is one of the first things guests see when they step in the door, and it immediately captures their attention,” said Jonathan Buckley, general manager of Great Shots. “Showing the biggest sporting events on the biggest television screen in the state makes the experience at Great Shots that more memorable.”
Mounted to the wall in the restaurant area of the venue, the Daktronics display will be used to show one large image or four zones with independent images. It features a tight 1.9-millimeter pixel pitch and measures 13.5 feet high by 24 feet wide to bring high-resolution imagery to golfers and other visitors to Great Shots.
“During the design process it was clear that the complex was going to need a feature wall that would bring a ‘wow factor’ for all the patrons,” said Michael Safranski, AVI Systems area vice president. “After viewing a couple of different options of video walls, the Daktronics 1.9-millimeter pixel pitch was clearly the best choice for the customer. The partnership between Daktronics and AVI Systems has been fantastic from the design process right through the completion of the project. It really feels like one team working for a common goal for the customer.
“Daktronics is excited about partnering with AVI Systems and Sanford on this great project for Great Shots,” said Matt Warnke, Daktronics sales representative.
