Dorothy S. Rowe, 88, died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017, in Sioux Falls.  Dorothy made the gracious gift of donating her body to the Sanford School of Medicine at the University of South Dakota, Vermillion.  A memorial gathering is planned at a date to be announced.

 Dorothy Suzanne (Conens) Rowe, daughter of Peter and Dorothy (Huning) Rowe, was born Sept. 14, 1929, in San Francisco.  She grew up and graduated from high school there.  Dorothy then attended College of Holy Names in Oakland, California.

 Dorothy worked as a secretary for an insurance company and later for her church.  She moved to South Dakota several years ago to be closer to her son.

 Survivors include her son, Robert (Ann) Rowe of Brookings; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, including Danielle Van Peursem, her husband, Tyler and their daughter, Lillian Rain, Mound, Minnesota; a sister, Isabel Holmes of Oakland; several nieces and nephews; and her close friends, Lois J. Morgan Sioux Falls.

Dorothy was preceded in death by a daughter, Denise Fulp; and three siblings, Erwin Conens, Justine Bruner and Cathy Walsh.
