BROOKINGS – The southbound on-ramp at I-29 Exit 132 near Brookings will close for about 21 days.
The closure is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, the South Dakota Department of Transportation announced this week.
Closure of the ramp will allow crews to regrade and pave the ramp. Signs will be in place routing traffic to Exit 133.
Drivers are also being reminded that the newly completed north side of the intersection of 25th Avenue and Sixth Street is a right in, right out intersection, and therefore left turns onto and off the north side of the intersection are not allowed.
The public is invited to attend weekly meetings to discuss progress and sequencing of the work along U.S. Highway 14 in Brookings.
Meetings will be held at 9 a.m. every Thursday at the Department of Transportation building located at 2131 34th Ave. in Brookings.
Interim completion for the project is Nov. 3, 2017, which includes Phases 0-2. Overall field completion date is June 30, 2018, which includes Phase 3.
The prime contractor on this $16.37 million project is BX Civil & Construction of Dell Rapids.
