BROOKINGS – The City of Brookings Solid Waste Department is trying to make it a little easier for area residents who are cleaning up wet basements and rain-ruined property.
Until Friday, July 27, residents may dispose of debris related to the recent inundation of rain at the Brookings Regional Landfill free of charge. Residents are asked to deliver all material to the landfill and notify the attendant.
Residents who cannot physically take their debris to the landfill may contact the landfill at 693-3667 and arrangements will be made by city crews to pick up the material later next week.
For special pick up, the city asks that debris piles be placed in the right-of-way/front boulevard but ensure it does not diminish traffic visibility.
For more information, call the Solid Waste Collection Department at 693-3667.
