GracePoint to host Night to Shine

BROOKINGS – On Feb. 7, GracePoint Wesleyan Church in Brookings will serve as one of the hundreds of locations around the world that will simultaneously host Night to Shine, sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation.

Night to Shine is an unforgettable prom night experience, centered on God’s love for people with special needs, ages 14 and older. This worldwide movement is hosted by local churches in all 50 states and more than 24 countries.

Every guest of Night to Shine enters the complimentary event on a red carpet complete with a warm welcome from a friendly crowd and paparazzi. Once inside, guests receive the royal treatment, including hair and makeup stations, shoe shining areas, limousine rides, corsages and boutonnieres, snacks and refreshments, karaoke, prom favors for each honored guest, and, of course, a dance floor with a live DJ – all leading up to the magical moment when each guest is crowned king or queen of the prom.

“It is awe inspiring to see how God is using the Church globally to stand up and advocate for people with special needs. I truly believe that the world is coming together through Night to Shine to celebrate the love that God has for us! Every town, every village, every state, every country needs a Night to Shine for their special needs community – a chance to be a part of something significant and life-changing … and to be blessed in the process,” said Tim Tebow, founder of the Tim Tebow Foundation.

As sponsor of Night to Shine, the Tim Tebow Foundation has committed millions of dollars in financial support to hundreds of churches needing assistance in hosting the event.

When Night to Shine launched in 2015, 44 host churches and 15,000 volunteers worked together to honor more than 7,000 kings and queens of the prom. Now in its sixth anniversary year, the Tim Tebow Foundation expects to see the event take place in more than 700 locations this coming February.

This event, held from 7-9:30 p.m., is completely free for guests and is open to anyone with special needs (ages 14-plus) and their families.
