BROOKINGS – The Helpline Center recently announced that Katie Miller has be named the November 2022 Volunteer of the Month, an area-wide award program sponsored by the Helpline Center and First Bank & Trust.
Miller is a valuable volunteer at Option 1 in Brookings.
Option 1 managers said in a release, “Katie has been a tremendous client advocate this last year. She has gone above and beyond in all of her duties expected of her at the center and has even done extra for our clients out of the center. She has made home visits to new moms in our program, made specialty cookies to give to our expecting moms, and just been a prime example of leadership as a volunteer in our center.
“If the staff has to be gone, Katie takes leadership of the center for the night and does so with excellence. Her work with clients is second-to-none. They all adore her and our staff feels the exact same way. You need someone to take charge and do so proficiently? Katie is who you need. There really aren’t enough words to adequately describe how far above and beyond she goes every single week in our center for our clients and staff. We would be totally lost without her.”
