BROOKINGS – Brookings Economic Development Corporation is hosting the second annual Kid-Preneur Pop-up Market from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 28, as part of this year’s downtown Crazy Days events.
“We had great success last year with over 450 people attending the market featuring 34 kid-preneur businesses,” said Jennifer Quail, BEDC’s director of entrepreneur support. “The kids really enjoyed showcasing their unique products and services and receiving valuable feedback and encouragement from the public.”
The market provides an opportunity for kids ages 5-17 years to promote their business ideas. From selling baked goods, promoting a dog walking service, or showing off their one-of-a-kind artwork, young entrepreneurs participating in the market will have the opportunity to learn about business development.
There is no cost to have a booth at the market or to attend. If you know a child interested in participating, visit http://startupbrookings.com/kidpreneur/. The public is encouraged to stop by and meet Brookings’ youngest entrepreneurs.
“We know we can count on the Brookings community to come out and support these kids in their business endeavors,” Quail said.
The market is just one of the many events and programs available for entrepreneurs and startups through BEDC’s Division of Entrepreneur Support. For more information, contact Quail at 697-8103.
