BROOKINGS – The Helpline Center recently announced that Jill Lindsay-Johnson has been named the December 2019 Volunteer of the Month, an area-wide award program sponsored by the Helpline Center.
Lindsay-Johnson is the chairperson for the Brookings Salvation Army Share the Warmth event/committee. Jill also participates in committee meetings and volunteers her time, but goes above and beyond. During the Share the Warmth preparation and even following the event, Lindsay-Johnson puts in hours that would be considered a full-time job. Lindsay-Johnson selflessly serves the Brookings community while also raising two children. Lindsay-Johnson is selfless, kind and hardworking. Salvation Army say they are lucky to have her.
Lindsay-Johnson has been volunteering for the Brookings Salvation Army for many years. She serves the Salvation Army, in some capacity, on a daily basis.
When asked why she enjoys volunteering for Brookings Salvation Army, Lindsay-Johnson said she enjoys seeing how we help our community right in front of our eyes.
Her favorite part about volunteering with the Salvation Army is the Share the Warmth event. Lindsay-Johnson enjoys being able to provide assistance to individuals and families directly, and feels it is rewarding to take some stress off of families when they are in times of struggle and need. The Salvation Army appreciates all of the hard work and time that she gives and thanks her for selflessly serving the community of Brookings.
