Below: The Brookings Lions Club made its annual contribution to the Boys & Girls Club in March. The mission of the Boys & Girls Club is “to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.”
On snow days during the school year, the Boys & Girls Club opens the club at a cost of $1,200 per day. Seventy-five percent of the 1,171 club members are in grades K-5 and 25% are in grades 6-12. $510 provides one meal a day for a club member for the year, but the cost of membership for a child is only $25. More information can be found on the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Northern Plains website at www.greatfuturessd.org.
