BROOKINGS – A 35-year-old Brookings man was arrested in an ongoing investigation that included the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation and the postal inspector, according to the Brookings Police.
The arrest took place Monday afternoon, said Lt. Derrick Powers.
“We came in contact with an individual in the 500 block of Main (Avenue) who was found to be in possession of a little over a half pound of marijuana,” Powers said.
“The individual was detained as part of an ongoing investigation,” he said.
A search warrant was conducted at his residence in the 100 block of Sixth Street.
“During the search warrant, controlled substances were found at the residence, including marijuana,” Powers said.
The man was arrested for possession of more than half a pound of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled substance, and maintaining a place where controlled substances are kept, sold or used. He was transported to the Brookings County Detention Center.
