BROOKINGS – A Marco’s Pizza is coming to the corner of Sixth Street and Jackrabbit Avenue in Brookings, confirmed a spokesperson with the company. The new pizza place will be on the former site of the Backyard Grill. An anticipated opening date has not been announced.
Marco’s Pizza, operated by Marco’s Franchising, LLC, is a restaurant chain based in Toledo, Ohio, that specializes in Italian-American cuisine, according to en.wikipedia.org online. It was founded by Italian immigrant Pasquale “Pat” Giammarco in 1978.
In 2016, Marco’s Pizza added 120 new stores for a total of 800 stores in more than 30 states and four countries, including the Bahamas, India and Puerto Rico, according to marcos.com.
