• Rolling Thunder South Dakota Chapter 2 meets the third Saturday of every month at the VFW in Brookings at 10 a.m. The group supports POW/MIA and other issues. The public is invited. 

Monday, Nov. 18

 The Brookings Toastmasters Club 3712 meets every Monday, from noon to 1 p.m. in the Mission Coffeehouse in the Eastside Room at First Lutheran Church. Visitors are welcome. The club provides an opportunity to learn public speaking skills, as well as to meet businessmen and businesswomen from the Brookings area. Information: 690-3824.

• Brookings Rotary Club – noon, Brookings Activity Center. 

• Brookings Optimist Club meets at 7:03 a.m. at the Prairie Cafe in the Prairie Lanes Bowling Alley. For membership and club projects information, contact Bill Flynn at baflynn@mmm.com.

• The South Dakota Art Museum Guild will meet Tuesday, Nov. 19, at the Museum. Lynn Vershoor will give the program, sharing some of the highlights for herself and the Museum over her 20 years as Director and her plans for the future! Lynn will retire the end of December. The program is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served at 9:30 a.m., followed by the program and a short meeting at 10 p.m. The guild has reserved a BATA bus to provide attendees with transportation to and from the museum. The bus will pick up attendees at the north end of the Brookings Mall parking lot at 9 a.m. and leave the Museum at 11:15 a.m. for the return trip. For more information or BATA bus reservation, call Pam at the South Dakota Art Museum at 688-5423.

• Prairie Striders Running Club meets at noon Tuesday  in the youth room, east of the gym, First Lutheran Church, Eighth Street and Main Avenue. Information: Dave Graves, 627-5718, or run@prairiestriders.net.

• Join Court St. Agnes No. 618 of the Catholic Daughters every third Tuesday of the month at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. All Catholic women are invited to attend, including those from surrounding communities For more information or any questions call or Carolyn Hoffman at 693-2920.

• New Beginnings Baby Café supports breastfeeding mothers in every aspect of nursing, from starting to weaning and every variation in between. It is facilitated by two registered nurses who are also IBCLC lactation consultants. All pregnant and breastfeeding moms are welcome to attend. New Beginnings Baby Café occurs every Tuesday night from 5 to 7 p.m. in the New Beginnings Family Room on the OB unit.

• The New Day Al-Anon meets at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the United Methodist Church at 525 Fifth St. Follow the signs to the basement.

• A Fox Hall Workshop open AA meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on the second floor of Peace Lutheran Church at 1104 22nd Ave. S.

• Brookings AA – 7:30 p.m. – nonsmoking meeting – 135 First Ave. S. Information: 692-6070.

• The Brookings Men’s Big Book AA meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. in Conference Room C of the Brookings hospital – use the main entrance.

• The Noon Kiwanis meets Thursday at First Lutheran Church at Main Avenue and Eighth Street in Brookings.

• The Brookings Domestic Abuse Shelter hosts a weekly Women’s Support Group from 6:30-8 p.m. every Thursday of the month. For more information, call 692-SAFE (7233).

• Weight Watchers Reimag-ined  meets at 12:15 and 5:15 p.m., at Comfort Suites at 925 25th Ave. (just north of Runnings), Weigh-ins start one half hour before the meeting.
