BROOKINGS – The second house that will be featured on this year’s FCCLA Tour of Homes is the Mouw home located at 2021 Freedom St.
This three-story, traditional home was built in 2005 and has six bedrooms and five bathrooms. The family has decorated the house as a fun Christmas tradition in preparation for the holiday season. Filled with heartfelt Christmas decorations, the Mouw house is a must-see on the tour this year.
The 14th annual Tour of Homes will feature four homes total and is set for 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2. Tickets are $12 apiece and are available at Hy-Vee and First Bank & Trust and at the Brookings High School Commons the day of the event.
New this year to the Tour of Homes will be the Bobcat Bistro, run by Brookings ProStart Capstone students. They will offer coffee and pastries in the BHS Commons starting at 12:30 p.m. Dec. 2.
The Freshmen FCCLA Chapter will provide childcare for children ages 2-10 during the tour, also at the high school commons. Childcare is open to anyone who has purchased a ticket for the tour, and the cost is a free-will offering. Children will have the opportunity to participate in activities such as crafts, games and a holiday movie.
