BROOKINGS — Brookings Health System has partnered again with the South Dakota Board of Nursing to offer a clinical enrichment program for nursing students. Applications for the paid summer internship are being accepted now until Nov. 17 at brookingshealth.org/Careers.
The clinical enrichment program runs for 10 weeks and offers nursing students the opportunity to continue learning the practice of nursing outside their formal education. Selected candidates will be paired with a nurse preceptor in their area of interest: obstetrics, inpatient care, surgery or emergency services. As an intern, students will perform tasks of direct and indirect patient care under their nurse preceptor’s guidance.
At the time of the internship, qualified candidates must be one to two semesters away from completing their degree with an accredited registered nursing program. They must also meet Brookings Health’s pre-employment requirements and be certified in basic life support.
