WHITE – One person died Thursday morning in a one-vehicle crash 5 miles north of White.
The name of the one person involved is not being released pending notification of family members.
A 2001 Chevrolet Malibu was southbound on 478th Avenue about 8:30 a.m. Thursday when the vehicle left the roadway and eventually hit a tree.
The 18-year-old male driver was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the only occupant and was wearing a seat belt.
South Dakota’s Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. All information released so far is only preliminary.
The Highway Patrol is part of the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.
