12:41 a.m. Improper lighting of license plate

2:12 a.m. Officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of Western Avenue for an assault in progress. One male was subsequently arrested for a domestic assault. A report was filed.

7:45 a.m. Sgt. Sonnenburg responded along with Brookings Ambulance to a residence in the 100 block of Second Avenue South for a female in distress. The incident was documented.

9 a.m. Officer Schneider received a truancy report from Brookings High School. A report was generated, and charges are pending.

10:43 a.m. Detective Smith took a report of fraudulent activity on a credit card and identity theft from a Brookings couple.

11:03 a.m. Officer Weinrich responded to the 400 block of Third Avenue South for a report of a welfare check. The woman was located and found to be fine.

3:18 p.m. Officer Engstrom took a report of fraud occurring in the city of Brookings. The report is being investigated.

5:02 p.m. Officer Engstrom took a report of vandalism in the 1600 block of Overl4ook Ridge Road to mailboxes. A report was filed.

11:30 p.m. Officers responded to the 400 block of Seventh Street to a report of a possibly drunk individual yelling in an apartment. One arrest was made.

Tuesday, Jan. 28

6:01 p.m. An injury accident was reported to law enforcement.

10:37 p.m. Officers assisted Brookings County sheriff’s deputies on a traffic stop near the intersection of 213th Street and 476th Avenue, Aurora. A report was filed.

Wednesday, Jan. 29

Thursday, Jan. 30

12:33 a.m. Officer Pollman conducted a traffic stop in the 500 block of Main Avenue South. The driver was arrested for drug charges and driving under the influence of narcotics.

11:46 a.m. Thought an I-pad was stolen from a business. Investigated and found it at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. No crime occurred.
