Friday, Feb. 5

1:06 p.m. Officers responded to a minor crash in the 600 block of 20th Avenue. A report was generated.

2:48 p.m. Identity theft

Saturday, Feb. 6

2:19 a.m. Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 2000 block of 22nd Avenue South. An investigation was performed, and one male was arrested on suspicion of DUI. A report was generated.

2:48 a.m. Officer Larsen stopped a vehicle in the 2000 block of Sixth Street for a speeding violation. The driver was later arrested for DUI-second offense.

3:52 a.m. Brookings Police responded to the 100 block of 22nd Avenue South for a report of a vehicle that drove off the roadway and struck a pole. Officers arrived on scene, and an investigation was conducted. The driver was later arrested for driving under the influence. A report was generated.

8:47 p.m. Officers responded to the 2100 block of Orchard Drive for a two-vehicle, non-injury accident. Multiple citations were issued. A report was generated.

Sunday, Feb. 7

1:16 a.m. Officer Popp stopped a vehicle in the 300 block of Third Street for driving without headlights. After an investigation, the driver was arrested for possession of fictitious driver’s license.

1:25 a.m. An officer with the Brookings Police Department responded to the 800 block of Ninth Avenue to take a report of a scam. A report has been generated.

2:03 a.m. Officer Popp stopped a vehicle in the 500 block of Third Avenue for improper wide right turn and lane driving. After an investigation, the driver was placed under arrest for DUI.

7:07 p.m. Officers responded to the 1500 block of 12th Street South due to a report of an assault with a firearm. The investigation is ongoing.

10:36 p.m. The Brookings Police Department took a harassment report about a male harassing and stalking a female in Brookings. A report was generated.

Monday, Feb. 8

9:31 a.m. Law enforcement investigated a two-vehicle accident, and a city accident report was completed.

11:16 a.m. Law enforcement recovered a BB gun pistol.

11:32 a.m. Community Service Officer Beaner responded to the Brookings ER for a report of a dog attack that occurred in the city.
