Friday, March 1

5:23 a.m. the Brookings Police Department conducted a welfare check at 1442 Wisconsin Drive at the request of the hospital staff. A female was found deceased inside the residence, and the death was determined to be a medical issue.

12:59 p.m. Officers took a report of a hit-and-run crash in the 700 block of 13th Avenue.

2:24 p.m. Officer McCaskill was requested to the 1700 block of Sixth Street for a non-injury accident. Both vehicles received disabling damage. One driver was later issued a citation for a traffic offense. A state accident report was completed.

2:29 p.m. One female was detained on a probation violation.

4:53 p.m. Officers responded to the 500 block of 22nd Avenue South for a crash.

7:25 p.m. Officers responded to the 1300 block of 17th Avenue for a two-car, non-injury accident. A report was filed.

Saturday, March 2

1:26 a.m. Speeding, 1-5 mph over; fail to maintain financial responsibility; stop lamps required

3:27 a.m. Two officers with the Brookings Police Department responded to the 400 block of Hooker Avenue in White to assist with a suicidal subject. The male was taken into custody without incident.

12:34 p.m. Officer Engstrom responded to a report of a hit-and-run accident in the 400 block of Fourth Street. A report was filed.

1:57 p.m. Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Second Street South and Airport Avenue for a stop sign that had been struck and knocked over.
