Saturday, Aug. 31

1:40 a.m. Brookings Police stopped a vehicle for speeding. One passenger was arrested for possessing a fictitious driver’s license. A second passenger was arrested for false impersonation.

2:53 a.m. Officers conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Fifth Street and Fifth Avenue. An investigation was conducted, and the driver arrested for possession of a firearm while being convicted of a felony. A report was filed.

11:21 a.m. Officers responded to the 100 block of 17th Avenue for a report of a hit-and-run. A report was filed.

11:58 a.m. Hit-and-run accident

2:49 p.m. Law enforcement conducted a traffic stop. During the stop, small amounts of marijuana and drug paraphernalia were found. One female passenger was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.

3:24 p.m. Officers responded to the 600 block of 11th Avenue for a welfare concern. A report was generated.

9:08 p.m. Brookings Police conducted a traffic stop on the 2000 block of Sixth Street. An investigation was conducted, and the driver was arrested for DUI and a weapons law violation.

10:24 p.m. Officer Franklin took a report of intentional damage in the 1000 block of Medary Avenue South.

Sunday, Sept. 1

1:32 a.m. Brookings Police stopped a vehicle for a lane usage violation. The driver was arrested for DUI.

2:12 a.m. Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Third Street for a disturbance. After investigation, one was arrested for disorderly conduct.

10:06 a.m. Law enforcement was called to 2220 Sixth St. in Brookings for disorderly male and female. Law enforcement issued a citation for disorderly conduct to one male.

1:55 p.m. Officers responded to the 700 block of 22nd Avenue South for a hit-and-run, the driver was located and was arrested for fleeing the scene.

2:03 p.m. Officers assisted Brown County with an ongoing investigation of theft.

Monday, Sept. 2

1:01 a.m. Fail to maintain financial responsibility; trafficking in license

7:48 a.m. A report was filed regarding the intentional damage of property that was located in the 1300 block of Fifth Street.

11:47 a.m. Officer Weinrich received a call of vandalism in the 400 block of 13th Avenue. A report was generated.

12:12 p.m. Officer Hart responded to the 1000 block of Southland Lane for a report of a burglary. Several items were reported stolen. A report was filed, and the investigation is ongoing at this time.
