12:23 a.m. Officers responded to the 300 block of Main Avenue for a report of an altercation. One individual was arrested for simple assault.

Thursday, Sept. 6

12:23 a.m. Officers responded to the 300 block of Main Avenue for a report of an altercation. One individual was arrested for simple assault.

2:39 a.m. Officers responded to the 400 block of Eighth Street in reference to a vehicle burglary. There are no suspects at this time. A report was filed.

12:56 p.m. Officer Larsen responded to the 1700 block of Eighth Street South for the report of a non-injury crash. A city crash report was filed.

1:17 p.m. The Brookings Police Department received a theft report. The theft occurred in the 1900 block of Eighth Street on Wednesday morning. One item was taken from a vehicle parked at that location.

1:55 p.m. Officer McCaskill was requested for a walk-in report of a sexual assault. The incident occurred in Huron. An agency assist was completed.

4:45 p.m. Driving while revoked; illegal window tint

9:15 p.m. Officers made a warrant arrest in the 700 block of 22nd Avenue South. A report was filed.

Friday, Sept. 7

4:53 a.m. Officers responded to the 600 block of Powderhorn Pass for a report of suspicious activity. The incident was documented.

8:29 a.m. Petty theft, $400-$1,000

10:47 a.m. Officer McCaskill was requested to conduct a welfare check on a mentally unstable individual in the neighborhood area of Minnesota Drive. The individual was located and detained for mental health reasons. The individual was later involuntarily committed.

11:03 a.m. Officer Bonnema conducted a traffic stop near the 1000 block of Sixth Street. The driver was arrested for possession of marijuana.

1:25 p.m. Officer Bonema stopped a motor vehicle for a traffic violation. The driver was arrested for possession of marijuana and driving under the influence of marijuana.

2 p.m. Drug information

7:21 p.m. Officer Asmus conducted an ID check on the 500 block of Sixth Street. A male was arrested on related charges and a report was filed.

8:28 p.m. Officers were dispatched to the 2100 block of 22nd Avenue South in reference to a welfare concern. A report was taken.

Saturday, Sept. 8

12:07 a.m. Officers responded to the 100 block of Sixth Street in reference to harassing text messages. A suspect has been identified, and an investigation is ongoing.

12:08 a.m. Officer Asmus responded to the 300 block of Main Avenue for a male refusing to leave an establishment. An investigation was conducted, and the male was arrested on several charges.

Sunday, Sept. 9

12:28 a.m. Officers responded to a medical call.

2:02 a.m. A traffic stop was conducted in the 900 block of Fifth Street. One individual was cited for underage consumption.

2:44 a.m. Officers responded to 800 block of Third Street for a female being inside someone’s residence. That female was cited with an underage and given a court date.

6:22 a.m. Officer Weinrich located a vehicle in the 1200 block of Third Street with front-end damage. A driver and passenger fled on foot. An investigation is pending.

10:18 a.m. Nonviolent family dispute

12:52 p.m. Officer Jurrens responded to a two-vehicle, injury collision at the intersection of 22nd Avenue and the Highway 14 bypass. Responding units included the Brookings Police Department, Brookings County Sheriff’s Office, University Police Department, Brookings Fire Department and Brookings Ambulance. Three people were transported for treatment at the Brookings ER.

1:28 p.m. Unattended death 

5:32 p.m. Simple assault domestic

10:59 p.m. Officer Asmus took a report of a motor vehicle theft from the 1700 block of Torrey Pines. A report was generated, and the investigation is ongoing.

Monday, Sept. 10

8:21 a.m. Officer Pollman took a report of intentional damage to a vehicle in the 2200 block of Yorkshire Drive.

10:54 a.m. Illegal window tint; possession or use of drug paraphernalia; ingest, inhale a substance to become intoxicated

12:54 p.m. Officer Jurrens responded to a two-vehicle, non-injury collision at Sixth Street and Medary Avenue.

1:30 p.m. CID assisted DCI with a phone examination.

6:12 p.m. An officer responded to the intersection of Eighth Street South and 22nd Avenue South for the report of a two-vehicle, non-injury accident. A city accident report was completed.

7:09 p.m. Officers met with a female at the Police Department in regard to an assault that occurred at Sexauer Park. The incident was investigated, and a report was filed.

Tuesday, Sept. 11

1:53 a.m. Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of 12th Street South for a report of harassment. A report was filed.

1:02 p.m. Officer Larsen responded to the 500 block of Fourth Street for the report of a suspicious person. It is currently under investigation.

9:55 p.m. Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Third Street for a report of a possible assault and illegal drug used. An investigation is ongoing.

11:41 p.m. Sgt. Sonnenburg was dispatched to the 400 block of Main Avenue for a possible theft report. The incident is under investigation.

Wednesday, Sept. 12

9:29 a.m. Officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Sixth Street for a mental health related incident.

10:51 a.m. Officer Popp took a report of a lost passport. A report was filed.

2:40 p.m. Officers Popp and Pollman conducted a warrant arrest on a male in the 1200 block of Main Avenue South.

2:55 p.m. Officer Larsen took a harassment report from the 100 block of Sunrise Ridge Road. A report was filed.

Thursday, Sept. 13

10:10 a.m. Officer Pollman took a report of an altercation that occurred in the 600 block of Heritage Drive. No charges were filed.

1:12 p.m. Theft by deception 

1:43 p.m. Officers Popp and Pollman arrested a female at Eastside Commons for a felony warrant. The female was transported to the Brookings County Detention Center and served with her warrant.

2:23 p.m. Stop sign violation and proceed without safe passage

3:38 p.m. Officer Jurrens responded to a two-vehicle, non-injury collision. One driver was cited for following too closely.

3:48 p.m. Probation hold 

8:28 p.m. Officers took an individual into custody for a Brookings County warrant.
