Thursday, Sept. 15
1:30 a.m. Officers initiated a traffic stop of a vehicle that drove through a red light at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and Sixth Street in Brookings. Upon further investigation, the driver was arrested for DUI-first offense, open container in a motor vehicle, and possession of a fictitious license.
7:42 a.m. Officers responded to the 2000 block of 20th Street South for a complaint of an assault. A report was generated.
12:30 p.m. The Brookings Police Department received and responded to a dog bite report.
12:51 p.m. Brookings Police stopped a vehicle for failing to stop entering the roadway. The passenger was cited for a drug offense.
2:06 p.m. Brookings Police responded to a male in crisis. A report was filed.
3:19 p.m. Detective Smith assisted UPD with a cellphone extraction search warrant.
