Sunday, Sept. 20
12:57 a.m. Officers responded to the 300 block of Third Street due to a report of trespassing. One male was later taken into custody for criminal trespass among additional charges.
2:43 a.m. Officer Popp stopped a vehicle in the 1600 block of Sixth Street to investigate a potential substitution plates violation. After an investigation. The driver was arrested for DUI and possession of a loaded firearm while intoxicated.
2:47 a.m. Officers conducted a traffic stop near Sixth St on the Interstate 29 northbound on-ramp. One male was arrested on suspicion of DUI. A report was filed.
3:28 a.m. Officers located a female passed out behind the wheel of a motor vehicle in the 400 block of Third Street. The female was in physical control of the vehicle and was placed under arrest for DUI-first offense.
12:32 p.m. Brookings Police received a report in regard to multiple locks being cut at a storage unit.
11:12 p.m. A male came to the Brookings Police Department to report damage to his vehicle. A report was filed, and the incident remains under investigation.
Monday, Sept. 21
12:08 a.m. Officers conducted a traffic stop on I-29 southbound near mile marker 132. One juvenile male was arrested on a warrant and drug charges. A report was generated.
1 a.m. Officer Popp, while driving through downtown in the 400 block of Main Avenue, noticed a male laying on the ground in front of a bar. After an investigation, he was arrested for disorderly conduct. The other suspect fled the scene and was charged on complaint.
1:13 p.m. Community Service Officer Galbraith received a report of an attempted dog attack that occurred on Saturday, Sept. 19, at approximately 10 a.m.
3:31 p.m. Sgt. Sonnenburg responded to a two-vehicle, non-injury accident in the 700 block of Medary Avenue South. A state accident report was completed.
9:48 p.m. Officers stopped a vehicle for speeding at the 400 block of Second Street South. Further investigation led to a DUI arrest of the driver.
11:08 p.m. Brookings Police responded to the 500 block of 12th Street for a suspicious person. The person was arrested for probation violation.
