Sunday, Sept. 26
12:20 a.m. Officers responded to Ray’s Corner, 401 Main Ave., for an assault report. Two people involved in the fight were identified and both had minor injuries. The incident is being investigated.
3:56 a.m. Officers responded to the intersection of Second Avenue and Sixth Street for a report of an assault. A report was generated, and the incident is under investigation.
2:59 p.m. Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of State Avenue to collect evidence regarding potential criminal activity. A report was filed.
9:11 p.m. The Brookings Police Department received a theft report from the 1500 block of Ohana Drive. A resident there reported a stolen firearm. The firearm was stolen from a vehicle during the past month.
Monday, Sept. 27
5:27 a.m. Brookings Police spoke with a Brookings resident in regard to people being in his residence.
Tuesday, Sept. 28
12:52 p.m. The Brookings Police Department attempted to stop a motorcycle for a speeding violation. The motorcycle started to elude from the police officer and crashed at the intersection of Medary Avenue South and Castlewood Drive. The driver was not injured and was placed under arrest for driving under the influence of
8:14 a.m. Brookings Police investigated a hit and run crash in the 600 block of 20th Avenue.
10:09 a.m. An officer responded to the 2200 block of Sixth Street for a report of trespass. One individual was taken into custody and charged with criminal trespass after notice.
