BROOKINGS – Lyle Aaberg, Korean war veteran, was surprised at the April 21 VFW Bingo night. A quilt made by the Brookings Area Quilt Guild was presented by Linda Vollan, a guild member as well as the hospital chair for the No. 2118 VFW Auxiliary.
Guild members have donated quilts to be given to local veterans in honor of their service. The collaboration between the Quilt Guild and the VFW Auxiliary is a combined tribute of recognition for veterans and their service to the country.
