Turning in what could be the best season in school history, the South Dakota State women's golf team travels south Monday for the Summit League Championship in search of its first league title.

The 54-hole tournament begins at 8 a.m. Monday and concludes Wednesday at the par-72, 6,134-yard ArborLinks Golf Course in Nebraska City, Neb.

After posting their third second-place finish since joining the league last year, the Jackrabbits come into the championship with the league's top stroke average and a trio of individuals with top-10 stroke averages.

SDSU, ranked 71st, currently has the school record and is atop the Summit League for stroke average, averaging 299.1 per round. Denver, ranked 48th, is second with a 300.2 average.

Additionally, the Jackrabbits won a school-record five tournaments, finished in the top three in nine of 10 tournaments and have a 18-0 record versus league foes throughout the season.

Besides stroke average, the Jackrabbits also broke school records for 18 holes (282) and 36 holes (564), and their five tournament wins are tied for the most this season in the NCAA.

Megan Mingo has turned in a record-setting season. She leads the Jacks and is fourth in the Summit League with a school-record 73.6 stroke average.

The three-time Summit League Women's Golfer of the Week won the Seton Hall Pirate Invitational and was runner-up at the Omaha and the Lady Thunderbird Invitationals. The senior has four top-five and seven top-10 finishes this season.

Mingo enters the Summit League Championship holding school records for 18 (68) and 36 (138) holes, both set at the Lady Thunderbird Invitational.

Teresa Toscano has turned in a fantastic freshman season, ranking second on the team and fifth in the league with a 74.68 stroke average. She captured the Jackrabbit Invitational title and has five top-five and seven top-10 finishes this season.

Senior Hallie Getz ranks third on the team and seventh in the Summit League with a 74.93 stroke average. Getz won the Chip-N Club at Nebraska and has five top-five and eight top-10 finishes.

Islamiah Fuad has turned in her finest season, sporting a personal-best 76.04 stroke average, ranking fourth on the team and 11th in the league.
