BROOKINGS – A snowblower was stolen out of a backyard, according to the Brookings Police.
The Ariens ST 24 snowblower was reported stolen at 5:35 p.m. Thursday from the 700 block of Seventh Street, Lt. Marci Gebers said. It was last seen around 9 p.m. Tuesday.
“This was a used snowblower valued at approximately $250. It was stolen out of the victim’s backyard,” she said. “The only thing unique about this snowblower was … about three inches’ worth of rust on the chute, where the snow comes out.
“It was covered with a black tarp that was made to fit on snowblowers,” Gebers said, adding the tarp was valued at $30.
She said the BPD would appreciate getting a call from anyone who might have seen the theft.
“Hopefully, someone in the neighborhood saw something, ‘cause I’m sure it wasn’t a quick process getting that loaded up,” Gebers said.
