BROOKINGS – Kids march to the music of “Broadway to Brookings,” the theme for this past Sunday’s Brookings Area Community Band concert in Pioneer Park. Band director David Reynolds plays the trumpet surrounded by fellow musicians on stage at the bandshell.
The summer series of Brookings Area Community Band concerts wraps up at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, July 23, with "Soda Fountain Favorites." The season finale features music by the Beach Boys, Elvis and other recognizable pop stars from the ’50s and ’60s.
Before that, make plans to attend a brat and burger feed fundraiser at 6 p.m. at the park. SDSU ice cream will be served during the concert.
The concert is free and open to the public. In case of rain, it will move to the SDSU Performing Arts Center at 7:45 p.m. For more information, call 695-0397.
