BROOKINGS – Walnuts were thrown through a window, and Brookings Police are looking for a group of kids who were in the area.
The incident was reported at 9:58 p.m. Saturday and occurred in the 700 block of Sixth Avenue, Lt. Marci Gebers said.
“(An officer) spoke with the victim, who said they heard glass break and checked their south window of their residence and noticed two walnuts inside the window,” Gebers said.
The walnuts broke the outside pane of a double-paned window “and then the walnuts fell in between the two panes,” Gebers said.
“There were two holes in the glass from the two walnuts,” she said, adding there is no damage estimate available.
“There were some kids that were seen fleeing from the area. Officers were unable to locate the suspects,” Gebers said. “The kids were last seen running east on Seventh Street.”
Police are looking for any information or video from the vicinity.
