BROOKINGS – A truck caught fire on the south edge of Brookings and was deemed a total loss Tuesday, according to the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.
The fire was reported at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday and occurred in the 3200 block of Main Avenue South, Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring said.
“It was found that the 1985 GMC pickup was last driven on Saturday, Sept. 26, and then parked. The Brookings Fire Department extinguished the fire but the vehicle was a total loss. The cause of the fire was believed to be electrical,” Sebring said.
