SIOUX FALLS — The Washington Pavilion will celebrate the newly renovated Wells Fargo CineDome and Sweetman Planetarium with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house.

The ceremony is at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at the Washington Pavilion at 301 S. Main Ave. In Sioux Falls.

The new Wells Fargo CineDome and Sweetman Planetarium will reopen to the public Labor Day weekend! The project was made possible through a more than $2 million gift from the Dick and Kathy Sweetman family to transform the former Wells Fargo CineDome. The new facility features sophisticated video projection, new dome screens and upgraded audio and lighting for a whole new experience for the community. The event will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony, a chance to check out the new technology and programming sneak peaks.

Washington Pavilion Management is a private nonprofit organization and the largest arts organization in the state. The management company oversees and programs two historic City of Sioux Falls facilities: the Washington Pavilion of Arts and Science and the Orpheum Theater Center.
