BROOKINGS – This year’s 727th Transportation Company/Disabled American Veterans Charity Poker Run raised a total of $40,000 for the DAV Transportation Network Fund, which takes veterans to and from medical appointments.
Above, supporters delivered the check to the network in October.
The 13th annual event held in Brookings in September had 700 registered riders. That compares to $34,500 from 643 participants in 2016. More than $180,000 has been donated to the network over the past 13 years.
Next year’s ride is set for Sept. 1, 2018.
