The Brookings Public Library received Exemplary Status of Accreditation from the South Dakota State Library on Feb. 12.
South Dakota Public Library Standards is a self-evaluation tool. The purpose of the voluntary certification and accreditation program for public libraries and librarians in South Dakota is to encourage the ongoing development of quality library service in the state. The accreditation is good for three years.
This is the fifth time that the Brookings Public Library has received Exemplary Status Accreditation.
